Welcome to Character Interviews, one of the wildest and most unpredictable improv games we play! Here’s how it works: one of our players steps into the spotlight and instantly creates a brand-new character from scratch—no prep, no scripts, just pure improv magic. Then, the rest of the cast (or sometimes the audience) steps in as interviewers, asking all sorts of questions to uncover the character’s backstory, personality, and some of the most ridiculous stories you’ll ever hear.

What makes this game so much fun? It’s the spontaneity. The player has no idea who they’ll become until they open their mouth, and the questions push them deeper into the character, resulting in crazy answers and hilarious moments. From mysterious astronauts to washed-up rock stars, no character is off-limits in Character Interviews! Stick around and see where this unpredictable ride takes us—it’s improv at its best!

Host Brandon Durkes @DrBrandonDurkes gets up close and personal with some…unique Kansas City locals.

You’ll meet: Ryan Hruza @Hruzard as The Penny Pincher, a superhero accountant balancing The Avengers’ budget.

Todd Linebaugh @JokesOnTodd as Doug Rug, a rug salesman (not a drug dealer, we promise) with a rug leasing business. Colter Lemmon @colterlemmon as Gus Hemsworth (no relation), a guy trying to figure out how to build an Ark in modern times.

From budgeting superhero battles to the stress of Ark-building, this game dives into the quirks of these Kansas City “characters.” Make sure to like, comment, and subscribe for more fun from  @thebirdkc  Comedy Theater!
